bufferbloat 2.0

if you are like me, you don’t use your ISPs modem but run the connection straight into your pfsense. This allows for some nice stuff. for example combating bufferbloat.

some nice people at SANS have written this post about it.

tl;dr: my bufferbloat rating (according to dslreports) went from C to A+

Basically it’s just traffic management and efficient queuing, use of codel limiters instead of tail dropping.

now I want to see how it affects my video meetings and if this was the reason for the occasional stutter/drops in framerate. would be epic.

and… Last but not least: update SSL certs
