Steve Jobs

I don’t know if it is his “Reality Distortion Field” or if this guy really is a genius but whenever I feel low or out of motivation I somehow get inspired by what this guy is doing or saying.

Last time it was the movie “the pirates of silicon valley” that made me laugh and love IT again (and pass my Cisco certification) and this time (post-christmas-depression) I just needed a kick in the butt to get motivated again to work in this monkey-house that pays my bills.

I found it with Steve – again.

Listening to his 2006 Stanford Commencement speech (or watching him on youtube) made me remember why I made my hobby my profession, why I switched to the mac and – most importantly – why I choose to keep going and not to give up and become one of “them”.

I realized: This is exactly what I want and what I always will do.

I chose different because my heart told me to. My life didn’t exactly get easier because of that but at least I can state that I did it my way, not another person’s way.
There is no reason trying to be like someone else or like someone else wants you to be.. life is too short to make such cheap trade-offs.

Thank you once more, Steve, for being what you are.
