it’s cruel having to wake up early in the morning.
but it’s _really_ cruel to wake up early in the morning and just as you are fully awake the alarm goes off and you wake up early in the morning.
Actually it made me laugh for it’s reference to the Matrix or “Groundhog Day” but it sucked nevertheless.
Anyway: off to my first exam for this summer. seven more to go :P
just imagine: Iran – USA in the semifinals.
can you imagine more tension and excitement?
As Matt said: “probably there will be only a few players left in the end”
the other combination I’d like to see it Germany-Holland. Problem is: I would have to hide myself somewhere because I don’t belong to either side ;)
I had almost forgotten what a messy fun a water melon can be ;)
Some things are funny only when it’s summer.
Anna, I am so jealous that you are in Bulgaria right now, where these things are (as everything) 3 times more tasty… :P
14 of june is my bioanalytics-exam; I will get through all the slides once again before I can enjoy this summer, too.
Unfortunately I couldn’t arrange with Arno that we come along and introduce us to him.. that means no big cats this summer :(

ORLANDO, Fla., June 8 (UPI) — A Florida judge frustrated by two bickering lawyers has ordered them to settle their spat with the children’s “Rock, paper, scissors” hand game.
The unusual decree was issued by Judge Gregory Presnell of the U.S. District Court in Orlando Wednesday when two lawyers couldn’t agree on where to take the sworn statement of a witness in an insurance case.
Calling it “a new form of alternative dispute resolution,” Presnell ordered the match to take place June 20 at 4 p.m. at a “neutral site,” ABC News reported. He said if the pair couldn’t agree on a site, they would settle it on the courthouse steps.
Matti Leshem, co-commissioner for the USA Rock Paper Scissors League, praised the move, but said he had concerns over the rules the lawyers will use.
“We will make sure that rock, paper scissors is not made a mockery by the legal system,” he said. “When people take rock, paper, scissors into their own hands, mayhem can occur.”
Florida.. huh? ;)
On my university there are so called “excursion-weeks” this week.
AÂ good opportunity for me to go to Amsterdam “study-camp” to prepare for the exams in bioanalytics which I gloriously failed last time :P
As I look at my schedule it seems to become a hot summer for me.
I registered myself for 8 exams, spread over the period july-september equally so I will be busy all the time. Nice!
Actually there are some very nice events that I want to attend this summer.
The one is the kaboom-festival in Maastricht, featuring electronic music (takes place 31st of June in Ipanema Maastricht) – Ximen will be performing, too.
All hail, Sander.. you seem to have the ability to turn everything you touch to gold! :)
And the other is rather unexpected: a festival in france called “eurockeennes” which features Depeche Mode as the saturday headliner.
Now, tell me where else you can get Depeche Mode for 36 euros this summer :D
Back to the books for me.. one more week to prepare.
Anna is leaving on friday for a 2 weeks trip to Bulgaria, leaving me here with Siepke and the house. I won’t be in Aachen much…
Today is ascension day.. also called “father’s day”
The day on which I had my only real motorcycle accident back in 1996.
When I look at the scar that this one left I remember it very well. My father sure was proud of me. :P
Actually, I wanted to fetch the motorcycle from Maastricht today.. somehow I am happy it is raining, this day is not for riding a motorcycle ;)
On the other hand, one should face one’s fears.. or is it?
Anna has a long weekend off, I will study genetics today, the only subject that really is intersting. Kinda funny that I grab a textbook without protest and begin reading without being forced to. :)
On Friday I will leave for Amsterdam again. The city that became my new home..
Strange, when I think that I love nature and small villages so much.. that the big city and its chaotic ever-hasting pace attracts me so much.
Well, actually I only spend the weekens there.. probably I will be annoyed by it once I live there 24/7 :)
This sunday we spent walking a charity walk for “Stichting aap” – an organisation that takes care of confiscated and homeless monkeys. They organized the “aapenloop” to raise some money for the organisation.
www.aap.nl
Doing the 20km untrained we did quite well: 4,5hours not including the breaks that we had to do due to heavy rainfall.
Next year we will do the 30km for sure :)
Afterwards we had a look at the monkeys and – to my surprise – I have to admit they are quite lovable.
I say surprise, because I always wanted to do voluntary work at stichting pantera, the same but with tigers and other big cats. Why help monkeys if you work with humans all day? ;)
www.pantera.nl/
unfortunately it’s almost 200km away from Amsterdam, not to speak of the distance from Aachen :(
The monkeys are just 50km away and Anna wants me to volunteer.. tough one.
well, not the best way of showing it to the world but I am convinced now – noone else would push me so deep into temptation.
Apple now sells black iBooks.. pardon, MacBooks.
Since this sexy piece of hardware came to existence years ago, I wanted it in black. Now I have to get one. Badly! ;)
Actually, I have to get two of them, because it would be unfair not to get a white one for Anna, aswell.

So.. whom can I steal them from?
My criminal potential just rose to a dangerous level.. ;)
